Temple #7: The Archives is a permanent collection comprised of three archives—the Prairie Avenue Bookstore's collection of rare books, the University of Chicago's Glass Lantern Slide Archive, and the Dr. Wax album collection—on the South Side of Chicago designed to encourage dialogue between local residents and others interested in art, architecture, and design practices.

Theaster Gates's practice encompasses performance, sculpture, and installation. His interest the urban landscape and myth gives him space to ask questions about cultural rituals and how they impact everyday activity.
