Celebrating its five-year anniversary, Paprika! Volume V is guided by the principle of the “Discourse Party,” encapsulating Paprika!’s dual roles: providing an outlet for student expression within the school and engaging in conversations about the present and future state of architecture. Paprika! bridges a divide in architectural media, remaining nimble and relevant through its frequency, and web presence, yet also committing to the value of the printed word through its physical format. This year, the publication implements a robust distribution strategy that will proliferate the publication’s presence in the world and broaden its readership. Submissions are open to the public, as are meetings.

Camille Chabrol, coordinating editor, fall 2019, is a master’s student at the Yale School of Architecture. She received a bachelor’s in philosophy and political science from McGill University, where she was visuals editor of Le Délit Français. She has worked for Fair Trade Egypt in Cairo and JDS Architects in Brussels. In New Haven she has been a research fellow at Yale's Center for Collaborative Arts & Media.

Deo Deiparine, coordinating editor, fall 2019, is a master’s student at the Yale School of Architecture and holds a bachelor’s of design in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. Deiparine has worked as an artist assistant for the studios of Sarah Oppenheimer, Camille Henrot, and Ajay Kurian. In St. Louis, he founded the arts project space, FREE PAARKING for which he curated and installed nine exhibitions.

Helen Farley, coordinating editor, fall 2019, is a master’s student at the Yale School of Architecture. She earned her bachelor’s in history from Haverford College and worked as a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Engineer for Turner Construction Company in New York City before beginning her graduate studies in architecture.

Michael Glassman, coordinating editor, fall 2019, is a master’s student at the Yale School of Architecture. He graduated with honors from Princeton University with a bachelor’s in architecture. He has worked with architects across the world, including Deborah Berke Partners in New York City, Tatiana Bilbao Estudio in Mexico City, and PARTI Architects in London.

Liwei Wang, publisher, fall 2019, is a Canadian student currently pursuing a joint MBA and MArch at Yale University. Originally born in China, Wang grew up in Vancouver and earned his Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Waterloo. He has worked on a broad range of architectural competitions at Sauerbruch Hutton Architects in Berlin and helped Studio V Architecture develop and visualize Maker Park, an adaptive reuse proposal for decommissioned oil tanks on the Williamsburg waterfront.

Paprika! is an entirely student-driven publication of the Yale School of Architecture, issued ten times per semester. Founded in 2014, Paprika! provides an outlet for student expression and discourse about the present and future state of architecture. Submissions are open to the public, as are our meetings. We receive no fiscal support from the university, and they exercise no editorial control. We provide a platform for emerging voices, in order to foster dialogue not only within the school, but also in the broader world of design and aim to maintain such a platform.
